Texas State University - Round Rock Campus

When the College of Health Professions at Texas State University made a strategic decision to move from a cramped, outdated building on their San Marcos Campus to a new building at the Round Rock Campus, administrators knew they needed the right partners and materials to successfully expand their "Healthcare Neighborhood" mission.

Selecting Austin-based firm Barnes Gromatzky Kosarek Architects to lead the project, Texas State worked with BGKA interior designer Erin Kozuh to create the inspiring and state-of-the-art learning environment the University desired. Kozuh turned to Wilsonart for their engineered surfaces needs. “Wilsonart simply had the sophisticated visuals I was looking for on this project. While the exterior blended seamlessly with the existing campus architecture, we wanted to give Willow Hall its own unique identity through contemporary interior elements—focusing on clean and refined forms,” shares Kozuh.

While the decision to utilize Wilsonart products was motivated by the vast selection of products and patterns available, the firm was also encouraged by its relationship with Wilsonart’s local Sales Representative. Kozuh elaborates stating, “Not only is Wilsonart an easy one-stop shop, our local rep is incredibly easy to work with and is very responsive—making Wilsonart the clear choice.”

The materials used to foster faculty retention and nurture student recruitment at Willow Hall included Wilsonart® Quartz and Laminate. Throughout Willow Hall, students, staff and visitors will find that the countertops, window sills and worktops are designed with beautiful Quartz in Santiago and Arlington. The restroom partitions utilize durable Wilsonart® Compact Laminate in Silver Oak Ply while Wilsonart® Chemsurf®—which provides exceptional chemical resistance—is seen in Pearl Soapstone on the research lab countertops.
